Great and easy to use

The service I have received so far has been exemplary. Thankfully, I have not yet had to put their services to the test due to an insurance claim or incident. However, other interactions have been excellent and it has always felt like a good use of my time and money to use their services.

Very easy to take out cover, though the true test would be how they respond when a claim is made, which I have not needed to find out on the two occasions I have used ReduceMyExcess. One niggle is the fact that cover is provided by calendar day rather than 24hour period which means cover is usually needed for one day more than the number of 24hour periods the vehicle is hired for. However the cost of cover is so much less than taking out the cover with the hire company that the savings are still significant enough to be worthwhile.

No fuss, solid product, great price, great saving over car rental company's offer

I needed to change my van hire excess to car hire excess because Enterprise did not have my van ready and it was impossible to get a quick response, Friday morning reported and got an email reply on Tuesday. By this time I was half way through my hire contract and so the excess insurance was a waste of time. £5 cancellation fee just added insult to injury, thank goodness I did not have an accident.

Hi there, Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry to hear that you were unhappy with our response times and cancellation fees. We are unable to change the policy from a Van product, to a Car product - they are entirely different. We do ask that you allow up to 2 working days for a response, for urgent enquiries you are able to use our Live Chat facility or call our offices - we would have been able to confirm at this moment that you should purchase a new Car Hire Excess policy and that in the event of a new policy being purchased that our £5 cancellation fee would be waived. Our Cancellation Fee is non-refundable both within and outside of the cooling-off period, this is outlined within the Terms of Business that were agreed to at point of purchase. I do apologise if this fee was unexpected. This charge is applicable to cover our costs incurred, and not to penalise you at all. Kind regards, Charli
