Didn't actually need to claim, so can't give a full review - for example, wouldn't know whether it's actually possible to claim on the insurance if push came to shove, ie scratch came to dent - but certainly cheap and easy enough to buy online and the other reviews I read all seemed positive (Assuming they're genuine). Saved me considerably on buying insurance from car rental company.

Easy to deal with and good value as well

Good price for policy but haven't had to claim so don't know if they're good then.

No mercy from the company if you make a mistake. Paid for 2 days policy then immediately realised it did not cover a van from a car rental company. E mailed reduce my excess immediately and sent them the van hire contract as proof that I did not have a car and they seemed more desperate to retain my £9.50 premium I paid than I was to get it returned. I hope the £9.50 they kept can go towards the company training on some basic customer care skills.

I am sorry that this was missed and do appreciate that you have simply made an error but we are bound by the terms of the policy. As the cover had already started and was a single trip cover there is no refund due to you under the policy terms which is why we have not been able to credit you. Kind regards Rebecca

it was easy, no problems

Easily arranged online prior to collecting the car and much cheaper than adding on insurance through the hire company. ReduceMyExcess are also rated one of the top excess insurance providers by Which? Magazine so it’s not just my opinion. I will be using ReduceMyExcess again in future

Hard to track anyone down to speak to for any queries. Think it is pretty crappy that you can not extend or alter any booking but instead need to make an entirely new booking (at crazy inflated prices). Will shop around next time - based solely on these two factors (bad service & inability to alter booking).

We are able to extend your cover by adding extra days on etc if you contact us ahead of the time this is required. This is no issue at all. Checking our system, the contact we received was not from you as the policyholder and we were therefore unable to process the request in line with data protection. We responded to the enquiry confirming this as the case and asking for the policyholder to get in touch. Kind regards Rebecca

Exclusions should be clearly stated in the terms and conditions, not in the FAQs. Would not recommend this policy as it does not cover the most likely times most people will need to pay an excess for a hire car - notably courtesy cars from garage or insurance company. This is not obvious from the terms and conditions.

This is specified on the first page of the document. If cover is not suitable you can cancel if required.
