Single Trip cover is exactly what it sounds like. It’s car hire excess cover that will only last the length of your trip. This can be anything from just 1 day, right up to 180 days.
Unlike annual cover this won’t automatically renew each year, it’s one-off, as-you-need-it, flexible cover.
Single trip cover for car hire excess is generally suited to people who are only likely to hire a car once or twice a year for short periods, generally up to a few weeks at a time. If you think you may be hiring a car for longer periods throughout the year then consider annual cover.
You can calculate how much the policies will cost before you purchase by getting a quote, that way you know exactly which policy type is the most cost effective for you.
1. AT THE CAR HIRE DESK, YOU ARE OFFERED EXCESS WAIVER YOU SAY: “THANKS, BUT NO THANKS!”
2. THEY PRE-AUTHORISE YOUR CREDIT CARD FOR THE VALUE OF THE EXCESS
3. COLLECT YOUR CAR NOTING ALL EXISTING DAMAGE ON THE FORM AND TAKE PICTURES OF ANY DAMAGE.
4. ENJOY YOUR TRIP KNOWING YOU’VE PAID A GREAT PRICE TO COVER YOUR EXCESS.
5. RETURN THE CAR CHECKING IT OVER WITH THE REP WHO WILL THEN CONFIRM IF THERE IS ANY EXCESS TO PAY.
6. IF THERE IS NEW DAMAGE YOU PAY UP TO YOUR EXCESS AND GET A RECEIPT.
7. LEAVE THE DESK HAPPY KNOWING THAT YOUR ReduceMyExcess WILL REIMBURSE THE EXCESS CHARGE.
8. COMPLETE OUR CLAIMS FORM AND SUBMIT
Single trip cover includes everything that our annual cover includes, meaning you’re not missing out any potential benefits by choosing this option.
Whilst there are some geographical limits, you can travel to an enormous amount of countries and still be covered by our policy. So if you’re jetting off to Spain, or road-tripping across the USA you can still select these options when you get a single trip quote with us.
