Please Note: You may make more than one claim under any section of this policy, but in total we will not pay more than the amounts shown under each section for any single claim, or in total for multiple separate claims during any one period of insurance.
Our Car Hire Excess Insurance is underwritten by XL Catlin Insurance Company UK Limited.
We will pay up to £7,000 for any physical loss or damage to the rental vehicle for which you are responsible for under the terms of your car rental agreement. If you have purchased worldwide cover with our Increased Excess Reimbursement Cover in USA and Canada, we will pay up to USD $50,000.
This section includes loss or damage to windscreens and any auto glass, roof, tyres and the under body, fire, theft, vandalism, towing costs and loss of use of the rental vehicle.
Cover will take effect from the time you (the Insured Person) take legal control of the rental vehicle and will cease at the time the rental agency assumes control of the rental vehicle whether at its business location or elsewhere. Cover shall be subject to a maximum period of 180 days in respect of any one single trip car rental agreement, or up to 62 days per trip/rental under the annual option.

We also include the Azores, the Canary Islands, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, Islands in the Mediterranean and Madeira.
Any country not already included in the definition of the United Kingdom or Europe.
The continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Virgin Islands of the United States, and Canada.
