Fantastic experience from start to finish. We weren’t forced/encouraged into any additional insurance (it was offered), and we felt that the staff were kind and helpful. The car was well maintained and worked perfectly - we were even upgraded to a hybrid. Return was easy and simple - they checked the car well but weren’t forcing any issues. Overall, very happy

Poor service, rude staff, want to charge for everything, shoddy hand over. On arrival at Hertz we had a long wait and the experience took about 2 hours. Whilst waiting many of the customers came back showing various marks, dents and scratches. Finally we were seen and the woman was rude and definitely needs customer care training. On receipt of our car we noticed marks etc. I went back in to tel them and she refused to inspect it, I complained without success. I will never use Hertz again

I found it easy to book the car I required online and all the information I needed about it was on the Hertz website. Collection of the car and dropping it back was fast and straightforward and the staff were helpful and approachable.

Car v dirty and only half full when we picked it up - also an hour late. Car had 65,000 km on the clock and loads of dents and scratches. For us that was ok as we didn't have to clean the car on hand back (or at least we've not heard yet if they want the excess covered yet at all). The staff at both end were good though, and apologetic.

Completely ripped us off. After booking the car online, the confirmation email clearly showed the total hire cost as £214.72. When we collected the car we were told we absolutely had to pay for extra insurance (€115 + €40), as a result of Brexit. I'm sure this is wrong. I can find no information online about this. However we were compelled to accept it. We have been loyal Hertz customers for some years and have never had extra charges like this. Nowhere in the booking email does it mention an obligation to buy extra insurance. In fact we had our own excess cover, bought separately which we showed the agent. Now, not only has this €155 been added but an extra 21% tax has been added to everything, raising the expected total amount of £214.72 to £399.26, almost double. Again, the email doesn't mention any extra taxes.

Have been using Hertz a lot this last year due to a very2 positive experience with them last year.Their prices are now very competitive,the staff I have dealt with have been excellent and their range of cars are modern and very good.Always get an upgrade due to becoming a Hertz member.No shocks at end of rental,all upfront.

Purchased full insurance through Jet2 and Hertz wanted another 120 euros for full insurance, so purchased my own extra cover through icarhire.com which wasn't needed as I already purchased through jet 2, was allocated car which i gave up photographing at 25 points of damage, was refused a refund on the car as paid to jet 2. Had the whole car videod by Hertz staff 3 minute video of damage. Never again from Hertz rental

The car was ok but ...the collection process was a pain - basicaly we had to go out and inspect the vehicle so we spend ages checking the state of the vehicle to ensure we would not be charged for damage by previous renters ! Some photos were on record, but i submitted another 20+ by email as requested. Many small stone chips and chips. No indiction if these were 'wear n tear'. I noted the agent from Avis came out and did this process alongside their customers. The car. Next time I'll consider Avis !

The car was ok, meet and greet hire at the airport as they don't have an office. Best prices I could find so no major issues.

Flight was delayed on the inward journey, on arrival at Alicanti airport the Hertz hire desk was closed. A taxi had to be hired to accommodation and return to airport the next day to pick up the hire car. On return of car there was no one available to sign the car back.
